Hi, I'm applying for the NROTC Marine Option Scholarship. I just submitted my application, but my listed asvab score just disappeared. Should I tell my recruiters about or is that unnecessary as my score is already on file via MEPS?
Also, what are some interview questions that I can prepare for? Obviously, I will be asked about why I want to become a Marine officer, but are there some other questions?

I suggest you use the search feature on this site and look for guidance on interviews. There is a ton of stuff on preparation, dress code, etc.

@DualParty - I recommend reaching out to your Marine Corps recruiter regarding your ASVAB score and preparing for your interview. Interviews can vary and really depend on the interviewee. Also, it's possible that you will have an officer from the recruiting station and a local NROTC unit. The time and length of the interview will vary, as well. Ultimately, you need to know why you want to be an officer in the USMC and be comfortable sharing about your experiences, your character, and be comfortable with scenario questions. You definitely should practice your interview more than once so that you are comfortable answer questions and talking about you and your qualities.

Something you should know is that it is likely that your interview will take place via Zoom/Google Meets. If you're not proficient with the technology, I recommend that you practice before the interview. In addition, your clothing should be business attire and conservative.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Not sure about the Zoom interview as the PFT is done in person, and they're usually done together. Be prepared for either.

Although you should track down the ASVAB score issue, keep in mind that it's not used in the officer selection process. It is used foe enlisted personnel.

I don’t the the asvab just disappears. I think on the app there was some kind of save button and if you didn’t hit it, it automatically deletes. I’d reach out to your XO and recruiter just to follow up.

Did you go through an enlisted recruiter or an Officer Selection Officer? While I've heard that ASVAB has recently been used, more credence is given to SAT or ACT scores as an indicator of your ability to finish out a degree. As Grunt has stated, search for interview advice. I would doubt the interview would be over a virtual meeting, but I guess it's a possibility. You can only do the PFT in person, so for that reason you could also do the interview in person.

I was awarded an NROTC MO scholarship in December. I did all the interviews in person and PFT was taken at a local Marine Corps recruiting station. I am not accepting the scholarship since I also won a 4 year AROTC scholarship to Vanderbilt.

@foxtailsean - Congratulations on both of your scholarships. What was the deciding factor for choosing the AROTC vs NROTC-M) scholarship?

I'm just an Army brat haha. Furthermore, Army has better benefits. More stipend ($420/month for Army vs $350 for Marines) and full tuition. Plus Vandy pays 50% of the dorms for ROTC cadets. On the other hand. NROTC scholarship that was awarded to U Penn (in my case), only covers 180K for 4 years but as you know, U Penn costs more like 250K only for tuition for 4 years. So I thought why go Marine Corps by paying 20K more each year over Army that has better benefits?

Sounds like a well thought out plan - Congrats and keep us posted on your time at Vandy!
