NROTC Scholarship Questions/Worries

My understanding is that NROTC will offer 600 (4) year Scholarships this year vs 2000 for AROTC. Not sure what the number is for AFROTC.

If you want to maximize your chances of receiving a scholarship and are willing to serve as an Officer in any of the uniformed services, you should apply to each of the academies and for each of the ROTC Scholarships.

Hi Marist. Does that 600 number include just Navy option? Or is Marine option included as well?
 
NROTC HOPEFULLY, Getting deferred from Yale from SCEA is worthy of a congratulations! my DD is in her first year at Yale in ROTC. She was told that applying SCEA was more competitive and slims the chances of acceptance than applying during regular admissions. To be deferred early means you still have a good chance! What is critical now is to establish a relationship with the commander and the people on the ROTC advisory board via email and another visit. You will find the names of the ROTC advisory board members at Yale's website. These relationships will certainly not hurt when it comes time in March for admission decisions. We know plenty of students currently at Yale who were differed. best of luck!
 
Yale rejection - status page?

DD would have been happy with a deferral, but instead was flat out denied. Maybe SCEA was a mistake. I was hoping coach would blue chip but she got encouragement but no definite answer from him. Oh well, at least she's not in limbo. Plan B schools are not very exciting to her. Tufts is another reach. USNA is still on the table. Need to transfer the scholarship but do not have another acceptance yet. No sense requesting a transfer until she is sure she is in.

BTW, anyone have trouble with NROTC status page today? I cannot connect to the server.
