I was just notified that I was selected for a full four year NROTC scholarship to Villanova University and was completely overjoyed. However, I will also apply for the Coast Guard Academy but am unsure if I should mention the scholarship to them..will it benefit my application in any way if they see how competitive I am?

They won't say "wow, we NEED to get him because he could go to NROTC" but there's not reason to hide it. The best way to be competitive is to sum up all of your hard work from high school, don't hold back, and enjoy the ride. You don't have to avoid mentioning NROTC, I never did, but I don't think it will be the difference maker.

Either way though, that's a great thing to have, NROTC is a great opportunity, congrats!
