Can anyone tell me how the Navy notifies candidates of scholarships? Mail, email or is there a website similar to the Army. Also - does anyone have any idea when the next board meets?

Thank You

DD was called and congratulated by her regional NROTC scholarship coordinator who advised her to check her portal. Her portal showed her scholarship along with a link where she could accept it online without having to wait for the paperwork to arrive in the mail.

Im in the same waiting boat although I have heard that NROTC boards meet about every 3 weeks. Im assuming that it would take around 2 weeks after a completion of a board for notification. This is just what I've been told by my scholarship coordinators

You can check status for NROTC on website. You just need to input your social security number and date of birth. For my DS notification came in the mail approximately 2-3 weeks after website reflected the scholarship was awarded.

Good Luck!

Here is my post from last year (nov. 2011) about the sequence of events for my DS:

"For others who may be wondering how the timing works, my son was notified on Friday (11/4) by email that he had received the NROTC scholarship. His status was updated when he checked it online as well. His letter and DoDMERB application arrived in the mail today (11/7); his letter is dated 10/27/11. His acceptance must be received by 11/18, so that's only 11 days from now. He is supposed to contact the doctors for appointments within 5 days of receipt of the letter."

NROTC Notification

My DS was notified by mail of his 4yr NROTC Scholarship. Letter was dated Oct 27th, arrived on Nov 7th, and he had to respond by Nov. 22nd. He is very excited, but waiting on USNA.
