For those that remember a recent thread about him shovelling the track in order to take the CFT, I guess doing whatever it takes to succeed really does payoff.

In answer to the question posed by rupewvu - yes, this will be my second son to attend if he accepts the offer. He recognizes the great opportunity the Academy is (his brother loves it); he and his brother (a C3C) are very close and very much alike and would love to both be at the same school. However, he's still evaluating his other options and hasn't made a final decision yet.

That's great MedB. This is such an exciting time for your family. My son offered to meet up with your son when he is home on spring break at the end of March. He was excited to hear that someone from RI finally heard something. He knew of another cadet that is currently a senior and I really think he helped my son out. Maybe not physically, but definitely some of the mental part. And we all realize that is a huge part of what they are going through.

Whatever it takes!

MedB, just had to laugh when I saw your post about "shoveling the track". We live in WI, had lots of snow in Dec, son was very sick but tried to run indoor track (21 laps in gym) while BB team practicing...He said he threw up three times while BB team "cheered him on" but he didn't quit. He did not use that day's scores. Still, he received his appointment Jan 30. He is very excited.:thumb:

Congratulations!!! So excited for your family.

The story about the indoor track... that's Awesome! :shake: I think you just have to be a parent to fully understand how watching your kid get sick/struggle like that and still not quit inspires awe in you.

The dedication these young men and women show simply amazes me. I can tell you for sure that I was not half as put-together as these candidates/cadets are... and I'm betting many of us were not at that age.

I couldn't agree more - I think it is important - here on the "appointment thread" for all these guys/gals to know that WE (parents) know just how hard it was to get here. I appreciated all of the determination, work-outs, study hours and "just say 'No'" moments that you all have gone through just to get where you are today. You are ALL winners, ALL leaders of our tomorrow - and I thank you for where you will take my country.:thumb:
