Surprised we've seen so few Presidentials!

Congratulations everyone on your appointment - I hope someday you'll be able to yell at me as a Freshman. :biggrin:
 
A Beautiful Day!!!

DD just received a phone call her Congress Chaffetz offering her an appointment to the Air Force Academy. We’re on our way to Colorado Springs for a campus visit.... so the timing couldn’t have been better.

One year ago today...March 1, 2012!

:smile::smile:It was exactly one year ago today that our DS received his packet in the mail (the BFE- Big Fat Envelope) and the excitement in our home was unimaginable!!! I can still remember going to the mailbox and seeing the BFE, and crying when I saw it stuffed into our mailbox.... Then, when our son returned from basketball practice and we presented the envelope to him... we all rejoiced together. That night will always be an unforgettable night because everyone was so excited about this HUGE answer to many prayers! However, it was not until the following day (March 2, 2012) that we found out that my son's medical waiver had been granted. My husband and I went to his high school with a bouquet of balloons (in the Air Force colors) and his vice-principal presented him with the unbelievable news that "He had received an appointment to the USAFA"!!!! This day...March 1, 2012 will always be memorable as being one of the BEST days of our lives, because our son received the news that HIS dreams (about college and a career in the Air Force) were about to begin... Now, one year later, our DS says that he is SO HAPPY that he is attending USAFA. He says that this is "where I was meant to be..." and he is honored to be in the midst of training to become a future officer in the Air Force. It was HIS dream and we are rejoicing (as his parents) in watching HIS dream unfold... THANK YOU USAFA!!!!!!!!!

Batmom, I can totally understand where you are coming from!! Congratulations to your DS and all the other C4C's that will "enjoy" Recognition next week. I'm just happy that your DS received news of his medical waiver sooner than my DS, but at least my DS finally received the waiver and they will run to the rock as fellow cadets next week!! Run, Run, Run!!! Go Class of 2016!!!!:jump1:
 
Just curious, are there any Virginia appointees that wouldnt mind talking to a USAFA hopeful?
 
The Big Push

My DD's admissions counselor told us on Friday, while we were there for a campus visit, that the big push would start this week! For all of you who are still waiting... may all your dreams come true!

I'm fine as long as brackets aren't involved. It would be awesome if USAFA would post pictures on Facebook of the envelopes going out like USMA did... but that doesn't really seem like their style.:rolleyes:
 
I am with all you guys, sure hope that this is the week that the "big push" comes along. The waiting game sure is 'fun'. Best of luck to everyone else and congrats to those that have already received their BFE's!

We are praying too!

It would be great to get the news sooner, indeed. It is really kind, in light of all the sequester anxiety. Especially remembering those who have applied 2nd time around.:thumb:

Uggg!!!! The pains of living in Korea and trying to check your portal. I know that checking my portal ever hour is not going to chance anything but im in the habit of checking it after track practice and I want to know as soon as I get an appointment.
