Has anyone from Ohio heard if they've been appointed or not? So far everyone i have talked to hasn't heard anything yet and i'm curious and anxious lol

Currently we have about 4 who have accepted offers to USNA, and about 7 who have offers on the table in the northeast quadrant. Understand, these are the offers that have been announced; there may be other offers that have not yet been announced per Admissions policy. Best wishes to you.

I received my BFE in the mail at my college address on March 19th. It was dated March 4th but may have been held for any number of days because the previous week was Spring Break and they hold mail during breaks. I am another appointed from OH-12.

Congratulations, and welcome to USNA 2017! Watch for an invitation from NEONAP to attend their Plebe Send-off Picnic. You will get to meet the other appointees from NE Ohio, and their parents, along with some of the local upperclass midshipmen and their parents. There will be briefings for incoming plebes and their parents to help you prepare for I-Day. Usually this event occurs about two weeks before I-Day.

A couple of personal items: Be sure you are in excellent physical condition as it will be a rigorous summer and you will perform better if you are fit. Develop a good sense of humor and a thick skin. Understand that it is virtually impossible for a plebe to do anything correctly the first time, learn to listen closely to what you are told to do and how to do it. Keep in mind that the detailers have a task to perform - preparing the new plebes to take their places in the Brigade and to make their way through academic year. After a few days the detailers will begin to focus more of their efforts on the plebes who just don't seem to be getting the picture. If you aren't in that group you might find a couple of seconds to take a deep breath and enjoy Plebe Summer.
Again, best wishes to you and your new classmates - Welcome aboard!
