I joined the forum a few years back when my DS was applying for an NROTC scholarship as his plan A and Marine PLC as his plan B. He did not get scholarship but did get selected for PLC as an air contract and went to OCS Juniors this past summer in Quantico. It has been a great ride and the program is a great fit for him. As most of you know, this forum is an extremely valuable tool. Thanks so much for everyone's input. My new interest is my DD who is a senior in HS. I never knew she had any interest in the military until a few months ago. The first sign was at the Marine Corps Museum outside of Quantico while attending my sons completion ceremony. She spent hours reading every exhibit and plaque in the place. About a month and a half ago my wife gets a text from her track and cross country coach that the Navy Coach is conversing with her about running at Navy. The next thing I know we are set up for an official visit to Annapolis. We took that trip a few weeks ago and it has been a whirlwind ever sense. She now has everything completed such as her application, physical, and her Blue and Gold Officer interview. I think all that is left is two rec letters from her principal and a coach for her nomination attempts. Thanks again to everyone and I am seeking further education.

Thanks for your help kinnmen. We kicked a few post back and forth on the pros of PLC and NROTC MO when my son was in the process. Hope your son is doing well. What is his status?

He completed OCS this past summer. He was Lima company, of course, but he might have been there when your DS was in India. He graduated from OCS July 3 as I recall, because we went to DC the next day to see the fireworks. One more year of college and keeping his nose clean and his Mom and I will be pinning those butter bars on him (Dad said hopefully). :thumb:

That is so great to hear. My son was India 3. Completed on July 2nd. I'm sure they crossed paths. It is a great feeling having kids/young men willing to do what they do. Makes for proud papas.
