I'm excited to meet you all from around the U.S. at Orientation. I see there will be someone April 13-14 from my own state of Washington. Last summer I spent a day at the Academy during CAP's Space Command, but nothing could compare to being there as an appointee. Congratulations everyone!

Walla Walla - a town so nice, they named it twice! That's the town saying. Sometimes we Walla Wallans refer to it as W2 (to the second power), or just plain Walla. The name is definitely fodder for jokes.

When you commented "Walla Walla! Sweet!" I first thought you were teasing about the fact that the town's claim to fame is the Walla Walla Sweet Onion. BTW, it's the state's official vegetable now.

Since I'll be in the Seattle area, I'll probably fly out of Seatac, leaving Sunday, the 12th (not 11th). I haven't gotten my ticket yet and don't know if I'll go to Denver or Colorado Springs. Any advice? What are you doing? I'd like to arrive in time to have dinner at Red Robin with you all. BTW, I'm also staying at the Academy Best Western, which I believe I saw a post you are too. It would be great to head out together. I can't wait to get there!
