hey, that's a great idea and very ambitious. This year a cow in my company was on the team and all I know is that he was gone all the time. I hear that it is very time consuming and a lot of your breaks (3 day weekends, possibly spring break, part of summer leave) is taken by team time. Now if you can get past the idea of that kind of commitment, which you will be able to better gauge once you are at the academy, you will have to get past the tryouts. I know that they are very intensive so it's really important to be in great shape-- not just a regular get-through-beast-shape. My good friend tried out for the team, and he made it through the physical stuff to the interview and they didn't select him from there because his grades were suffering. This is not to discourage you, but hopefully it will prepare you to be successful. The scuba team has tryouts that are very similar in comparison. Very tedious and challenging. You will have every opportunity to try out for anything that you may have interest in, so good luck, keep an open mind, and remember to not spread yourself too thin!
