I know they say "who you know" is beneficial to your application, but does having two Veteran Air Force parents and growing up in an Air Force family increase your chances of acceptance?

I think the who you know is more on who you could possibly get to write recommendations or evaluations for you. Whether friends of your parents or not, some people can really help you out by vouching for your character. It is possible though that they take the fact that you have been raised around it, but I doubt that is too much of a deciding factor

There is a small bonus for having a parent or sibling who graduated from USAFA/USNA/USMA.

 Well, it seems that I should just give up and admit that I'm having a second Monday. And me without any coffee yet this morning.

Of course Merchant Marines as well! :thumb:

Who you know always helps with recommendations but a solid record is still needed. The only advantage to having a parent (1 or both) on active duty or retired is the Presidential Nomination. If you have a Presidential nom and get a Congressional nomination your record will be reviewed twice thus increasing your odds.

Growing up in the AF only frustrated my DS. He knew more about what it was really like but had to put up with upperclassmen who "didn't have a clue".
