Does the USAFA allow a basic cadet to have a watch (Hikers' watch) during BCT? Also, where to go on the internet for the combat boots once you receive an appointment so they can break them in prior to arrival. (Assuming this is allowed).

I highly recommend perusing this thread http://www.serviceacademyforums.com...ent-cadets-anything.48629/page-10#post-493952 and searching it for info on watches and boots. Lots of good up to date information posted by current cadets. In short, yes you can have a watch, within regs (see link). And there are lots of sites for boots but make sure they have good return policies for your first pair because you don't want to settle for boots that "almost" fit. I use uspatriottactical.com for mine. These are my favorite boots http://uspatriottactical.com/rocky-c4t-trainer-lightweight-air-force-military-boots-sage/ even though they are not waterproof. I usually just give them a waterproofing treatment each year and they work great. Love how light they are (lighter than my tennis shoes0. Also note I am not a current cadet, so not sure if there are any additional USAFA boot requirements.

They allowed basics to have watches this past year (class of 2020), I wouldn't anticipate that changing for c/o 2021. Just hang tight until you get the instructions to appointees.

As a USAFA grad with a daughter at USNA - it only adds to USAFA's reputation as being a country club school. : )
