DS did average on his PRT at the end of Plebe Summer. Does he have one more opportunity first semester to do the PRT for a grade? He's been looking at the requirements for the Honors lists and would like to improve his grade if possible.2 minutes of crunches - (a shipmate holds your feet and counts) 65 is minimum, 101 is maximum
2 minutes of pushups - (a shipmate watches and counts off) 45 is minimum, 101 is maximum (20/85 for females)
1-1/2 mile run - 10:30 minimum, 8:15 maximum (12:40 - 9:35 for females)
You will do a PRT when you report, and another at the end of PS, with another at the end of each semester while you're there.
In other words, you will do the PRT ten (10) times - assuming that you pass each time on the first try.
If you haven't read this yet, it has good information: https://www.usna.edu/PlebeSummer/_files/documents/2013/2017 Exercise Routine.pdf
Thanks for the reply. I thought the PRT he took at the end of Plebe Summer was the "official" one for this semester, but some other posts mentioned PRTs at the end of the semester. I'll check with him. It was just something i was thinking about after a conversation we had.I believe the Plebes this summer did cadence push ups as a test group. In regards to your DS retaking the PRT, I doubt they got to redo it. Your DS is the best resource for that answer. The Brigade took their PRT I believe last weekend.
