Plan B

Well, the number of those being appointed from college is not much higher. My understanding is USNA cares not about collegiate ECs ... '85 or others might edify, but yours might be wishful thinking about those.

Um ok. Also, there is a good chance I can do an honors program at the civilian college, which would look pretty good.

USNA recognizes that it is difficult for college freshmen to do much more than participate in college activities. Thus, if you have strong ECAs and leadership in h.s., you don't need to do much in college.

IF, however, that is your "weakness," you'll want to look for opportunities to improve in that area. It need not be in college. Perhaps you can do something over the summer or an activity outside of college. If you believe or know this is an area for improvement, you may want to discuss it with your BGO.

If your h.s. ECAs/leadership were ok, focus on classes and grades in college. Do ECAs that you enjoy but not to the detriment of your grades.

Ditto. If you can handle both, do it.

1. You can actually have some fun, meet people who enjoy similar activities, socialize, etc.
2. It will make you more competitive, there is no doubt in my mind. But, this SHOULD NOT be in place of grades.
