I believe that I have read some information regarding the topic but I was hoping to get a little more specifics for DS situation. He is heading into MS3 next year and loves the program. He is also very focused academically and is looking to apply for law school for post-grad work (he would like to enter into JAG Corps). He is getting very mixed messages from current program leadership regarding options for fulfilling his goals. So what is the best path?

1) Request an educational extension upon graduation to attend law school.

2) Request Army Reserve Branch and attend law school.

3) Request National Guard Branch and attend law school.

He is a 4-year scholarship recipient (AROTC) and is doing very well thus far in the program. Is there a better route to ensure JAG possibility? Will any of these options provide financial assistance for law programs? Is there an option(s) that we are not aware of? His program leadership stress the active duty option and seem to be discouraging the others.

Thanks for any assistance!
