On the Pre-Assessment survey for the Summer Seminar, did you guys put anything in the box at the bottom that says "Are there any life experiences (overcoming adversity by personal effort, travel abroad, community service, etc.) that you would like to mention?".

I'm not sure what they want in that box, or if it is required.

I'd say if your life has been changed by any of the life experiences then yes, you should include something. But, if you can't think of any major differences the experiences had on you, than no, don't include it. It is really up to you if you want to include something. None of us on here know your life or if you've had anything worth including.

I'm in the same boat as you...that is the only thing left for me to fill out... but i was unsure how to phrase /what is deemed good to write. I plan to talk about my father deploying, leaving my mother (who had recently undergone surgery),and my 9 year old ADHD brother behind. /I am still contemplating how to phrase,if that makes sense. good luck!

I have an auto-immune disease so I talked about that and overcoming and coping with it when I was growing up. I realize something like that isn't very common but maybe something along those lines. I think they are looking to see how you react with adversity with this essay so anything that fits the bill for that should work.

We don't need to do that survey if we have applied for summer seminar right? Or are people doing it anyway?

It is on one of the forums you have to fill out if you get accepted for summer seminar, so I'm pretty sure you have to

Well, since I saw that someone said you need it for summer seminar, I don't fully know. However, I know you are beginning your basic portal when you get accepted and when I began mine I did not fill out, I didn't feel like I had anything that would set me apart.
