i applied for the presidential nomination for the class entering june 2010. they sent me, about 3 months ago, a little card saying "we have received a nomination for you from the following person/category: Presidential, you are now an official candidate" what does this mean, and what do i need to do. the reason i ask this months later is because i got busy with nomination interviews from clergymen

Everyone who is eligible for Presidential gets one. Not everyone who gets Presidential nom is awarded appointment. Get all the nominations you can!

But if you get one from your clergyman, well, not sure about that one!:yllol:
Let us know how that works out for you!

As stated before if your parents qualify for Presidential, than you get one. Typically they have in the mid 400 noms for each SA, but only 100 can get appts to each SA.

Curiosity....how is it your clergy is interviewing you for any SA?

Another question: Since there is a limit of 100, what happens if 101 people with LOA only get the Presidential Nomination?

While there are an unlimited number of Presidential Nominations available, only 100 candidates may be appointed under the auspices of a "Presidential Appointment."

After those 100, the remaining candidates with a PN, are placed into the "qualified alternates" pool.

When all the "designated" appointments are made: POTUS, VPOTUS, MoC, etc., THEN the QA pool is "racked and stacked" and the remaining slots for the class are filled from that pool.

Right - which is why it would be prudent for a candidate with an LOA and a Presidential to also apply for a Congressional Nomination.
