Taking the PSAT this thursday, anybody any tips/advice? freshmen btw
I remember this test. There are two things that should help.
1. Don't waste time on one question. If you don't know it, save it till last.
2. Narrow down the list of answers. This gives you a better chance of guessing if you don't know.
I think you can only qualify for National Merit Scholarship if you take it as a junior but nothing wrong with practice. (I am a National Merit Semifinalist, finalist application pending.)
Freshman taking the PSAT's? lol odd. You should definitely begin to study for the SAT's from soph-junior year. That'll definitely prepare you for the official NMSQT (PSAT) for junior year.
AND... make sure you take the SAT in October of your junior year. That's the one they use for National Merit Scholarships. If we had only known!

The PSAT/NMSQT is the one I took to be a NM scholar but I've never taken the SAT.
