This is not a competitive nom. All applicants who are eligible and submit the supporting documents are given one. That check mark confirms he was eligible and has one in his record now. There could be several hundred of these assigned in any year of applicants. Only a certain number of appointments can be charged to the Presidential nom - one of the reasons applicants are encouraged to apply for all noms for which they are eligible. That gives them more “nom buckets” to compete in.On my son's portal it has a green checkmark next to "Presidential Nomination Received".
Does this mean it has been submitted or that he actually was nominated? We have not received any confirmation or letters about this.
