When referring to the Air Force Academy in essays, do you capitalize the "A" when just saying "academy?"

Context: "The academy’s comprehensive..." or "The Academy's comprehensive..."

I find it overly repetitive to keep writing Air Force Academy and it detracts from the sentences.

Thanks

The official www.usuafa.af.mil website uses a capital "A" when referring to the Academy. I would go with that format. Modern grammar teaches that if an organization has a house-style guide, use that house-style of capitalization. I would consider the repeated capital "A" on the official website the house-style.

Probably no biggie either way though. I just find these obscure rules of grammar interesting.

Because you are using "Academy" as a shorthand for Air Force Academy I believe you should capitolize, much like you would a nickname for someone. If you are referring to an academy generically then it wouldn't be capitolized.

I forgot to add that I learned something here. I didn't know the rule on the "in house use." Thanks!
