"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" A few of your favorite things (to counter the Petty Grudge thread)

Right?! ALL of you here on SABF have been an additional Godsend 🙏 distraction for me since we jumped on this roller-coaster ride last year... I am a planner and all of the advice I followed from each and every one of you while embracing the jello, prepared me 110% for the ride to I DAY!
Hugs to ALL!! 🤗❤️
Oh my, surely you don't follow anything I advise.

I should put this disclaimer in my sig. line:

The best thing about July:

Christmas movies on Hallmark. I'm watching one now.

When I find my wife watching TV on the weekends it is typically either golf or a Hallmark movie.

If you could only watch one or the other for the rest of your existence, which would it be? why?

Watching the girl I love smile
Hearing and feeling the wind in the trees
A clear blue sky with nice clouds
Watching children smile and laugh while playing or running around outside
A full tank of gas

I found some cards and end of year notes from former students and a few of their photos. It was nice to read their kind words so many years later. A few days ago I got the below message on FB messenger. "Little Will" was a deck seaman when I was an HMC and the IDC on the USS Bowen. I helped him in the process to escape Deck and put in for HM A school, Corps School, we call it. Four years later he reports to 2nd Med battalion when I was there. I was deployed most of the time and didn't see him much but it was good to hear from him all these years later.

"Hi...Senior Chief...it's good to see you again...the last time we saw each other was at 2d Medical Battalion in 1996...97ish. I want to thank you again for helping me become a Corpsman during our time on the USS Bowen back in 1990 to 1992. XXXXXXXXXX HM1 (SW/AW/FMF) retired...aka little Will...from the deck Department on board the USS Bowen."

LOL! I actually woke up this morning and said "wait! isn't it July?! Hallmark Christmas movies!"
Guess I have been too busy scrolling through Plebe Summer photos to find DS since I got home to realize it was July :yay:
Even more exciting than Hallmark movies July means we can officially start crafting for Christmas.

"In the depths of Winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer." - Albert Camus

Every year on the first day of school I stand in the hallway outside my room as the students file in and I say, "Is it June yet." I'll be there again in about 24 hours. I'm starting my 15th year teaching high school and can imagine doing only one other thing to earn a paycheck. Of course if I win the lottery, I'll probably not even go in the next day.

Your students are lucky to have you!
