RD Still Awaiting Decision

Joining the anxious parent. I fear my kid is also on the margins. And, has been chasing this so long and unwilling to put a back up in place. If he doesn't get in, will take a closer look at NMMI. Note, application to SUNY Maritime open until 4/1 which is a straight path to OCS. Good luck to all. They can't be sending out decisions on Good Friday/Easter Sunday...could they?

While they have chaplains and I'd think they'd try to wrap up before cob Thursday, they're not a religious institution so anything is possible.

Warning - anxious parent post. I'm feeling pretty down on my DS' chances this week. He wants it so bad but I just have a feeling he's on the margin. Stellar ACT score (33) but lesser gpa and while he's a recruited athlete he's not at the 'we REALLY want this kid' level. He wants it so bad though. I had to work to get him to explore back-up options and he's found some good ones. He really enjoyed meeting the Army ROTC PMS at one of his top options so he put in for the AROTC scholarship before the last round of selection boards. Those results also come out this week. It's not what he has his heart set on, the USCGA, but for all we know it's exactly the right place for him to be. I'm just not looking forward to the level of disappointment he's bound to feel should he not get an appointment this week.

DS was awarded the 4-year AROTC scholarship today! He's still really hoping for a nomination but it's a huge relief for me knowing he has a financially viable path forward.

Same here. Coach said it was a drawn out process and to hang in there. Mine is one of two recruits for that sport and neither appears to have received an appointment yet.

My DS received a waitlist notification. So I guess it’s not over. His #2 school accepted him for Spring, which I guess was a blessing in disguise because he can play the waiting game a little longer.
