Have any college reapplicants heard anything about their admissions status after submitting their first semester transcript?

Nothing yet! I haven't seen any sort of timeline for appointments for reapplicants either. Best of luck.

I think they wait until all of the college/reapplicant transcripts are received and then review them, if not as a group, more or less at the same time.

So are college re applicants competing only with other re applicants or against the others on their MOC slate?

No, they compete across the board. However, my sense is that, at some level, USNA wants to compare apples to apples in terms of qualified status and assigning WPM scores. From a process standpoint, it could be a bit more difficult to look at h.s. candidates and college candidates at the same time b/c they really do bring different things to the table.

That makes sense. Thank you for your response.

Had a question asked of me about "apples to apples" the other day I couldn't answer with any confidence and am hoping that perhaps someone could shed some light on.
Does USNA "rate/evaluate, etc." the colleges that candidates are applying from in a similar way they look at high schools? Would make sense but can someone answer that who has knowledge of that?

Yes, the academy does take into consideration the college you are attending, as well as the rigor of schedule.

Just a singular data point...oldest son was a re applicant to USCGA, from a community college. Took a typical 4/c course load, did well, and was appointed the second time around. Doing well in college level work is the key.

While there are folks who come from community colleges, USNA does prefer a 4-year college. That said, USNA also understands that some folks may not be able to afford to attend a 4-yr college, may need to attend a "less rigorous" college due to financial aid or family considerations, may attend a particular college due to ROTC, etc. When applicable, these are points to raise with one's BGO.

As the above poster astutely stated, doing well in the core plebe courses wherever you are is the first priority.

Me as well as my friend both went to a very small state college, and were both admitted to USNA. I honestly believe that the academy looks more at what classes you are taking then what university you are attending. To answer the original question my friend found out he was accepted on February 5th and I found out on the 10th. I believe that they really start looking at college apps towards the very end of January and early February.

Agree--a lot of the college applicant appointments seem to be sent out in the first couple of weeks of February.

as a reapplicant does USNA automatically receive your DodMERB which is good for two years? or do the candidates have to contact DodMERB and have it re-sent?
and do all SA's work the same on this? any feedback greatly appreciated

I'm not certain about the "automatic" transfer. I think USNA requests status from DoDMERB and then they (DODMERB) send it to them.

In my case USMA first requested the medical and at some point after I got a letter from DoDMERB indicating I was "Qualified - US Military Academy" about a month later I received another letter from DoDMERB the same as before but adding the line "Qualified - US Naval Academy". I went onto the DoDMERB site and could see what I assume was the date of the request from USNA.

Once you have enough documents sent in to the Academy, DoDMERB sends you a letter asking about your current health, etc. Very easy to fill out. If hleath is the same/good, nothing more needs to be done. Your DoDMERB login will show the dates and statuses of your qualification or needs.
