Looking for recommendations for restaurants within 20 mile restriction.Was thinking of probably going to Newburgh?We have only been to West Point area once,on R-Day.

Sadly, very limited dining options in the immediate area as even more restaurants have gone out of business lately...
I would check out Newburgh waterfront, Cornwall-on-the Hudson, Cold Spring.

The Newburgh Brewery also has some good food and beers (if you like that sort of thing). It is a converted steam engine factory right on the Hudson. When we went the service was very good.

I love The Hacienda. It is just fun.
Is Pallisades Mall out of distance? Otherwise I would suggest a movie and dinner at the mall.

We've had some very good meals at Billy Joe's Ribworks. It's in Newburgh right on the Hudson, so the view is also great. It can be pretty popular so you may want to get a reservation.
