I just had my eye evaluation today, and my full physical one is this Thursday. From what I understand, Dodmets has to send the information to dodmerb, then dodmerb has to process it? I was curious about how long does it take for these individual processes to happen.

Thanks.

Log in to your account: it gives you the expected processing time/date.

I had results(online) about 10 days after my exam. It's very impressive how fast DodMERB processes the files.

I checked on dodmets, and it appears they received my opto exam with no problems so far. The "applicants pending date" is scheduled for 11/6, which is quite a bit beyond the "10 days". Could this also be due to the fact my physical examination hasn't taken place yet (it's scheduled for tomorrow?) or will it stay the same?

DS had his eye exam about two weeks before his physical. Results from that were posted within a couple of days. After his physical, it took about 4-5 days for DODMETS to send to DoDMERB, and then about another 5-6 days for DoDMERB to process and notify there was a remedial - notification on website that a remedial was needed, official notification via snail mail of specifically what was needed to clear it. We had gathered that information ahead of time, anticipating that there would be a remedial for a specific orthopedic issue, I faxed it in and he was cleared in 2-3 days. All told, it was roughly 2 weeks from the date of the physical to being Q'd, including time to clear the remedial (since we had all the documentation on hand - if you have to gather the documentation, it would be longer). We too saw a date weeks in the future on the site, but it turned out to be much less time than that.

remedial

got a remedial. do i fax AND send via snail mail or just fax results to DODMERB

Just fax - they will get it and they are prompt. (That was our experience.) Note their request, however, that if you have 15+ pages to send, please send by snail mail. We included the remedial letter and a cover sheet, and only the relevant medical record pages for the requests, and numbered all the pages.
