I was bored and just decided to start randomly searching things dealing with VMI, when I stumbled upon this:

    http://www.charleston.net/news/2009/feb/04/citadel70519/

I found this to be very exciting news. Especially after my overnight a few of the cadets talked about the last citadel game and just briefly touched on the rivalry and it's importance. Seeing the first game once the rivalry is renewed is played in Charleston, would this become like an smaller scale "Army-Navy" type game, where the corps of cadets from the opposing school be bussed to the the rivals stadium for the game? Maybe a select few cadets could go, like on a pass?

Either way I found this interesting and even though it's kind of old news I felt like sharing. Please tell em if this should be taken down for any reason.

The demise of the Va Tech -VMI rivalry while I was a Cadet ended a long standing if lopsided , and the whole Silver Shako trophy thing ("The Military Classic of the South")became a big deal which kind of died when VMI left the Southern Conference a couple of years ago. I would assume it probably will be played up again especially if VMI at least has a competitve football team- which it looks like they do. I think that the last time they played Citadel away was in Charlotte NC a few years ago and it was a Corps trip.
