I just wanted to inquire as to how I am looking as far as being offered either an AROTC or Marine option NROTC scholarship (the only 2 that i an applying for) I am not sure if the school of choice makes a difference, but if I accept a scholarship, I want to attend The Citadel and plan on majoring in some category of engineering. The scholarship is my backup for the SA's. I am a rising senior and my GPA is about a 4.2 weighted and a 3.7-3.8 unweighted. I recieved a score of 1860 on the SAT, Math-540, Reading-710, Writing-610. I am planning on taking it one more time in October. I am 22nd out of 212 in my class. I also have plenty of sports such as: Track 1 year, Cross Country 1 year, football 2 years, will be wrestling in my senior year, and recreational/travel soccer. I also have plenty of other EC's such as: clubs- VA DECA Club 2 years, Beta Club 3 years (and will be treasurer senior year), Spanish Club 1 year, Trojan Club (Varsity athlete club) 1 year, and an SCA rep for 2 years. I am also attending a selective leadership program held by my local Chamber of Commerce. Almost every class I have taken throughout high school has been either advanced (not AP) or dual enrollment college credit. I also attend an emgineering program called the Piedmont Academy of Engineering and Technology for morning classes every school day (for junior and senior year) that is similar to a Governor's School program. I take college english, math, and engineering classes there. With this program I completed a 2 week program called Industry Fundamentals which focused on team building excercises and also allowed me to tour several multi-national company facilities such as FedEx Air and Volvo. This summer I completed a 4 week engineering internship with a multi-national transformer company called ABB Inc. I also work about 20 hours a week at Chick-Fil-A. I am also a licensed U.S. Soccer referee and work as a ref for a soccer club. I also volutnteer as a youth coach for this club. I am proficient in two 3D modeling engineering MATHCAD Softwares: SOLIDWORKS and APT Creo. I also did Cub/Boy scouts in grade school, but not past about the 6th grade or so. I am in very good physical condition and I am very good at public speaking and interviews so I am not worried about the APT of the interview. The only flaws I may have are a speeding ticket and I have gotten In school suspension (which is for very minor offenses at my school) twice. Obce for horseplay on a bus and another for driving to the engineering academy when unauthorized to do so (because I missed the bus). One other thing that I may add that (I am not sure if it makes a difference) is that I go to a nationaly recognized high school that is ranked in the top 2,000 high schools in the country.
