I have a nomination interview with my congressional representative in a couple weeks. I'm a prior applicant and I am now on an ROTC scholarship at my university. I was issued a couple ACUs and I was curious about whether I should wear them to the interview or not. I'm probably just gonna wear a suit and tie because I thought that would be more formal but I figured I would get some input from you guys. Any tips are appreciated!

I would go with the suit and tie regardless. That being said, I believe there are rules as to where you can wear your uniform and I further believe that wearing it to the interview would violate those rules. If I'm correct (and you should double-check with cadre) then wearing the uniform to the interview could be a major faux-pas. You could "lose points" if someone in the interviewing committee were aware of the rules. Of course I'm just a parent and don't stay totally on top of this stuff, but I do know my kid will not wear his uniform to other than his ROTC functions. I don't care how much I plead...

    Interview

Coat and tie. ACUs are a work/duty uniform. Not equivalent to "business casual" Generally the Army does not permit the wearing of ACUs to social events off Post. In fact, some Commands only let you stop and get gas and such on the way to and from work while in ACUs. If you want to wear your Class A's - no rule against it. I would still go with coat and tie.

Thanks guys I figured I would be better off in a suit, but just wanted to make sure.
