I've seen some mixed information on bringing your own running shoes. My DS has very colorful running shoes, as the particular model only comes that way - will these be allowed, or do they need to be primarily white/gray? It can be difficult to find shoes that really work for him in a primarily white color.

They don'T need to be completely white, just don't get bright neon colored shoes. Most running shoes that you find at the store are fine. Just don't get a pair that will stand out.

Honestly no one cares what color the running shoes are. I would not go out buying new, non-colorful running shoes if he already has colored ones. If he needs new shoes, go for good fitting shoes above all else.

    Get what fits

Balloon attack is right. No one cares what color your shoes are. They care if you can run in them. I had the same reservations with the shoes that I brought with me for Plebe Summer since they were a bright orange, but no one cared. You will be running A LOT so get shoes that you can run in (at least break them in a little before coming) no matter the color. They tell you to bring your own shoes so that you can be comfortable running in them, no matter the color.
