Applying for 2023 at USNA. I currently have an ACT of 31E and 29M, and SAT of 660V and 740M. Both are sent to the academy but my question is which is higher and which will they use?

Edit:
-Will be taking SAT 1 more time
-ACT Reading: 24, Science: 23
-SAT Essay: 6/4/6
-ACT Essay: 8

Lots of charts to convert. Definitely the 740 is higher than the 29 in math. Not sure about English. My son is finally satisfied with his scores and is done! Prep and get ready for your last SAT test! Good luck!

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, what were his scores?

USNA superscores. They’ll take the higher scores. Don’t worry about it because there’s nothing more you can do at this point.

Many don't know this but USNA also superscores across tests- in other words your Math score in SAT was higher that the ACT but in English your ACT was higher- admissions will covert and use the higher scores from both tests.

WOW! Really? Thanks for that information. I know USAFA does not do that, but does USMA?

I don’t think so, but I’m just a CC so someone else can correct. I’m really glad to be done with standardized testing.

I agree. I took the SAT 5 times and the ACT twice. My scores on SAT were all over the place which was consistent of the College Board curving each test differently. So frustrating to get twice as many questions answered correctly but see my score drop by 100 points! If anyone is reading this I would only recommend the ACT going forward. The SAT was just so much money down the drain for me.

I only took the SAT twice. I think it is rediculous how many time some students take the SAT and ACT.

Every student is different. Many students retake standardized tests to improve their scores. Having the commitment to improve and keep studying is not ridiculous. I took the SAT twice and the ACT three times before I earned the scores I wanted. There is always room for improvement, no matter what. If your score isn't a 1600 or 36, there is always room to do better. Please consider that every student has different academic skills before you call retaking college admissions tests ridiculous.

Sorry to distract from the OP!
