I currently have a Plebe at West Point. My younger son who is a junior in high school recently expressed interest in West Point as well and applied to SLE a few weeks ago. We are from Massachusetts and I am wondering if anyone else in the state has heard anything as my son has not. I know that spots are limited and that competition is huge! I'm sorry if there is already a thread with this question but I have not been on here since my Plebe received his appointment one year ago.

SLE...

Getting into SLE is more competitive than getting an appointment. I wouldn't sweat it. It doesn't count for any points going towards your sons WCS. I would focus on Boys State, Eagle Scout, higher GPA, higher class rank, Letter in sports and leadership which has points going towards your WCS. Follow the same path as your Plebe. You also have some great resources to tap into already with your WP FB parents to use.

Good luck, keep us informed.

And good luck to your Plebe, he should be coming home in a few weeks after PPW and will be accepted into the Corp upon return and will be a Cadet

I too am from MA, and am in congressional district-09. The next round of acceptances go out tomorrow(I THINK it is). Crossing fingers. I had gotten an e-mail a few weeks back outlining the dates of acceptance rounds. I'm not sure if there is another one in mid-March, but the last one is the start of April.

Did anyone receive an email regarding SLE yet?

My son is a current HS Junior waiting to hear about SLE 2014 and we are also from Massachusetts. His candidate portal still says pending. We realize SLE is highly competitive. I'm not sure if other folks from Massachusetts have heard anything yet. Best to all!
