So what school do you plan/hope to attend?

he should complete it by the end of the summer and have a month of September to tweak it, etc. During the spring summer, not only he should visit schools, he should visit battalions.

Meanwhile, the most important check list that is relevant now: is he taking an AP now as a junior? Honor classes? This is one of the very important check marks that he cannot make up for it later with exercise and training, since he needs to be able to show completed AP courses by the end of the junior year.

read the past posts and thread on this forum, dating back probably a year. It will take you a couple of weekends, but SO WORTH it. There are a lot things he should be already paying attention to, and you should be staying on top of.

It's a long journey but so worth it. There is NOTHING like patient gathering of information and getting all the insider's knowledge of the community on this board.

caveat: I am talking about Army ROTC.

Schools I got scholarship to:

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
University of Notre Dame
Loyola University of Chicago

I haven't heard back from any of them with admissions decisions but if WP falls through then I'll probably end up at U of I

Congrats on the Duke university scholarship man:thumb:. I live in North Carolina and I have to say that Duke is North Carolina's Most Prestigious and difficult college to gain acceptance to. I received scholarships to North Carolina State University and The Citadel and Im 80 percent sure about the Citadel

If I get into ND next month thats where I'm going otherwise UofI most likely.

The main reason I'm taking it to UVA is because it is my #1 school, I have some connections to the place, and I can afford Michigan State without a scholarship (I live in MI). For me, it would make no sense to accept to MSU over UVA.

You are correct in saying that UVA's admissions office gives little weight to ROTC scholarships, but with some connections and (hopefully) a lot of luck, I'm hoping to get in.

I received word that I was awarded the MC Option NROTC scholarship, but I don't know where to yet. My number one and most desired school is VMI.

Early admission date at U of I is December 17.

I was awarded a 4 year scholarship to Fordham and Providence. I was crying when I found out. They were my top 2 choices. I just accepted it at Fordham last night. I should hear from admissions in 2 weeks. It feels unreal. A full ride and a job after graduation in the finest military in the world. ROTC seems like a great opportunity. Congratulations to any other scholarship recipients.
