Hi All,
Sorry I've been gone for a bit. I've missed the friends I made here. An update - my daughter didn't get her waiver for myopia, so she's attending a civilian college and is going to move forward with the USMC PLC program. As some of you may recall she had her nom, her LoA, everything but a waiver for her eyesight.
So she is doing PLC, while reapplying to USNA as a first choice, also applying to USAFA and USMA. But will move forward with PLC so as to not lose time or momentum should she fail to get the waiver the second time.
I've been out because a few weeks ago I was riding my motorcycle on the SF Bay Bridge and was rear ended by a mercedez who didn't know better than to hit motorcyclists and didn't know to stop once you hit them. My recovery is almost complete, just a little difficulty with my right arm still, but that should be better in a couple of more weeks.
In the meantime, we've been dealing with the Code Pinkers at the USMC office in Berkeley which is where my daughter is doing her PLC.
As a former Marine I've been there a lot recently myself and recently donated a very high end CCTV system to them to help with their pink plague.
It appears the Code Pinkers have recently singled me out and are on the attack. Pretty funny really. They call me old, mean, fat and white. The lady who called me that is the same race as me, probably about 15 years older than me, I would guess about 60 pounds heavier, and as for the mean part, well, I do have a mean streak, so maybe she was right on that one. But I never attacked them as they walked down the street, so I would say they are meaner.
They blogged about our last confrontation here: http://codepinkjournals.blogspot.com/2009/07/mr-brown-goes-to-mrs.html
So there is an update, I have some traveling to do next week, then will be back in town and look forward to getting on the boards again.
