I am glad to have found this forum, a lot of my questions have been able to been answers, so thank you all! I am currently a college sophomore, majoring in Biology and Geographic Information Science. and have strong desire to serve and pursue Army ROTC. I understand that I am starting late, but I have talked to the enrollment officer at my university. The options given were LTC and SMP.
For LTC, I was wondering, who are the people who receive allocations? What is the average profile (in regards to grades, GPA, major, extra curricular activities, etc.) of those students who receive and LTC allocation? Are high school grades, ACT/SAT test scores, and other high school achievements and honors a factor in the application? Also, does college major play a roll in the decision? I have tried searching the forum for information regarding LTC, but the search option makes that difficult.
I am enrolled in the ROTC elective class at my university for next semester and will be applying for LTC as soon as possible. Does anyone have any advice for someone starting the program late? I am just trying to gather as much information as I can so I will be prepared when I start. I regret not starting ROTC earlier, but I am excited for this upcoming semester. Thank you all for your help!
