Hoping for the best

I was wondering if your DS is the the principal nominee for TN 06 .My DS received his TWE last week and we were all very sad his 10 year dream of hoping to go the USNA is over.None the less we are still hoping of the possibility since he is the first alt.
 
Thank you to everyone for the support and words of encouragement. Since we start another week on pins and needles, I wish the best to all of those still on the island with me. The rollercoaster is loading up and almost ready to make another run for the week! Good Luck to All!:thumb:

DS received the in late January from USNA. He has declined the USNA to accept his USCGA appointment. We are TN-06 and he received both Congressional and Senatorial noms. Hopefully his appointment will go to another well deserving Tennessean.

DS was "second alternate" for TN-06, but did get an LOA in early fall, so with that, the USNA gave him the appt. About a week after getting the appt, he also received a nom from Senator Corker. It was our Congresswoman that called to give him the news though.

He has declined his appt however to accept an appointment at the Coast Guard Academy.

Best wishes to all of you still waiting. Our prayers go out to all as we know very well that could have been him getting the TWE.

Great kids with great plans, no matter what they end up doing.
 
Another round with the mailbox!

DS returned from his marathon late last night and FINALLY got the mail from Saturday - No TWE... we live for another round with the mailbox today:thumb:
 
Yes! This could turn out to be another rough day but let's hope the BFE's are heavier so they take longer to arrive! My nerves are shattered causing me to bicker with my sweet and patient husband. Hopefully some good news awaits us,
 
My hubby is trying to prepare for a trial. Usually very focused - not today!

Good Luck to everyone else that is still in the game. Today is probably the first day that receiving no mail would actually make me happy. I hope to be back later with good news or to at least hear some good news from other people.

Best Wishes to All of you!! Wasn't going to check the forum until later but I am glad I did... Whatever the outcome is this week, I am glad we have each other... Like everyone else, I am on pins & needles!!
 
I am not normally a mailbox stalker. DH always gets the mail and I usually just wait until he does....but today I went out to the mailbox....alas, I was early. OY!
 
I don't know why I find so much solace in the posts on this thread as we wait and hope and mourn and rejoice. It's such a mishmash of emotions we share here. Our friends and family have been supportive as we've watched DS take this path, but being here feels warm and fuzzy in a way I don't fully understand. Somehow I think checking in here regularly has helped me cope better with this process. I appreciate the gentle reminders to relax and enjoy these last few months with DS at home. Thank you all for being here and for the support network you have become.
