Wait, you got a call? We have the same congressman (Cramer) and I only got an email from his rep when West Point shipped my appointment!? Hmmm.

Woot Woot another appointment! Congratulations ND_Candidate :thumb: Wish we would get a call. Our Congressional district has over 700,000 residents and our Congressman is really busy, so I wonder if he makes calls. Is it standard to make calls?

Yep, Cramer gave me a call today. I've been in contact with the person that handles the nominations quite a bit trying to sort out some problems, so that may have been it.
 
Maybe it's appointment week. Fingers crossed!!!

Ahh, well I kind of made an ass of myself when he called me the first time, as I couldn't understand why he was telling me I was nominated to WP after I put USNA as my first choise. Maybe I scared him off. I wrote a great opinion letter to the Fargo Forum praising him for how he handled the shutdown, so that should make up for it some. See you at the Army Navy game! :thumb:

Now, I've started some stupid game while I drive asking God for a sign, "oh look that car has a Navy sticker, that's a sign!", "Oh look at all those Marine billboards". Funny how I ignore all the cars with the State University stickers all around me and focus on the car with the American flag sticker. Hahaha, I need help, my DS thinks I need to "chill". Mail comes in 2 1/2 hours.

Expecting BIG things today!!

OK everybody - another day, another chance of getting BIG things in the mailbox - or possible that BIG call from the MOC. :thumb:
 
no mail yesterday....decline from NROTC online....plan C - D - E are history....solid plan B....come on' PLAN A!!!!!!!!
 
If only admissions could speak directly with DS they would see how badly he wants this and how much he wants to serve his country as a career Naval Officer. I do hope we hear today...or soon at least. The stress is getting to all of us.

Still no mail today in Florida. Thought for sure all the sailors on "the price is right" was a sign, guess not :biggrin:

This post has taken on such a fun dynamic, and it's such a help knowing others are in the same mode! Each morning I'm sure that today will be the day, and I imagine another way to let DS know the news...
This experience as a Service Academy parent is like no other, and that's one reason it's so helpful to have a community that understands everything from the journey to (hopefully) get there, as well as the highs and lows that happen once they are there. We understand each other, and the crazy things we do - when my current mid was a plebe, I remember buying several boxes of Girl Scout cookies and going directly to the post office, putting them in a flat-rate box and sending them off. Walking out of the post office I'm stunned to realize that I'd just spent $25 sending my mid Girl Scout cookies - who does that?! Sheepish grin - I do...every spring! I have since learned that GS cookies are their own form of currency in Bancroft Hall! Still waiting for 2018 news here in SC - mid brother and friends will be here for the weekend, on the return trip to USNA from Spring break - secretly hoping the BFE arrives while they are here :)
 
No mail for us today either. Going to be a long weekend. We will be out of town so we won't be getting any mail til Monday
 
Ive emailed admissions counselor last night. Got back a reply this morning, he said if you haven't heard and the file was 100% complete, then it should be a good thing cuz you're still in the game. He said USNA have already sent out (some) rejection letters, so it's should be a good thing if you haven't heard anything yet. No news is a good news, for now. He also said hang in there, since admissions is busy trying to sort everyones files out and make final decisions.
