What the heck!?!?!?

got a small manila colored envelope in the mail today. Darn you Offices of government insured loans! was it necessary to get me all excited when I opened the mailbox??????? :unhappy:
 
Yes, definitely check the front door! My son's was delivered on a Saturday but we didn't realize it was there until Monday-oops. (Our front door doesn't get a lot of use) It came in a large manila envelope and the navy-colored portfolio it is enclosed in does not bend so it would not have fit in a traditional mailbox. I am praying for all of you-you all have such great spirit.
 
OK -- california chiming in with nothing but junk mail today! The wait goes on!
 
CT here - still waiting! Love this topic thread. So true about the stress!! And now, since DS didn't get the NROTC scholarship, we are making up Plan C... He's going to apply for a "walk on" position with NROTC at his safety school - did you see the word "apply" in that sentence??!! Yes, now we have to go through a whole new application process!!!!! Please let there be a BFE in the mail tomorrow; I don't know if my sanity can take much more!!

O.K., it is getting bad out here! Had a dream about running into our congressman while camping out at the Post Office for the BFE! I might just be a bit crazed.

Silent on the USNA and NROTC Fronts here. He is into University of Washington, University of Oregon and University of San Diego, waiting on his University of California selections to start chiming in starting on the 15th.

I'd really be going crazy if I weren't deep into regatta season with the whole crew.
 
Still waiting on SC. I am glad to hear I am not alone in my mailbox stalking and sign searching!
 
Unexpected News!!

Right after DS checked the mail, with no TWE or BFE, he received a call from the AFA with an offer of appointment:shake:Totally unexpected because he only had a presidential nom (but as the conventional wisdom goes, it only takes one:thumb:). Sure takes the pressure off that whole mailbox stalking thing. I want to thank everyone on this forum, and especially this thread. You've made this journey so much easier. We're praying for all of you....and we're still looking for that BFE from USNA:smile:

Just called home to see what was in the mail. 9 year old said dad checked the mail before he left to work, called husband and asked what was in there..... he can't remember if there was anything from USNA. Ugggg..... Won't be home for 2 hours.

Came home to an empty mailbox. Disappointed. Confused...then relief. Glad I'm not in this alone. Still no word on NROTC.

We're still waiting in Houston - DS has a congressional nom TX-10. He was invited to a Blue and Gold Candidate Dinner for the Texas Gulf Coast and Southeast region a couple of weeks ago - there were about 20 kids (with their parents) there and I would say half already had appts. either from LOA or traditional and the other half did not but were told that they were invited to the dinner because they were very promising candidates. We were also told from our BGO that Texas appts seem to come later than some of the other states. We are still very hopeful and continue to pray and stalk the mailman/mailbox!
