Still in the game

Hmm can someone help me determine if I'm reading into this too much? My Congressman is hosting an Academy Day tomorrow for his district for underclassmen to become informed on the application and nomination process. I received a Congressional Nomination and still haven't received a BFE or TWE... My MOC will be there tomorrow and his military liaison contacted me and asked that my family and I attend. Could I be receiving good news tomorrow? Not sure why else my parents would need to come to this 3 hour event for interested freshmen and sophomores. My congressman knows my family and maybe wants to tell us something in person?

You are hoping up the same tree we are! Our congressman is hosting a nomination ceremony tomorrow....boy oh boy, that would be sooo exciting if he handed DS an appointment!

I don't think that you are reading too much into it. I could see why you may think that, and hopefully that is the case! However, he may want your parents to attend so they may be able to help answer any questions that the interested students' parents may have in regards to the process. Hopefully it is because they have good news to share with you, my fingers are crossed for you! Good luck, let us know how it goes!!

9AM

It's now 9AM on Saturday... I got up around 8:00AM. I took the dog out for his thing, ran a pot of java, grabbed the news paper, sat back read some crazy political stuff to get some humor in my day and then went to wake up my son.

Stopped at his door, did not wake him, just took the moment to just remember how I just saw him. He was snuggled up in a warm blanket at 9AM sleeping with no worries, he is still my son at home. Not too many more days left like that for him or us. Closed his door, left him alone, remembering what I saw and here I am.

Remember the moments folks because it is all changing sooner rather than later.

Unlike you though I went to my sons room where he was all snug in his bed and I had to get him up at 6:30 to go to a swim meet. But I still cherish the moments sitting sweating at a meet and cheering him on as I have done since he was 6. Yes it is ending all to soon.

Also still waiting in VA. DS is pitching today as he starts his final season of high school baseball. I'm sensing more anxiety from him with every passing day. Would be so cool to be able to bring a freshly delivered BFE to his game!

To all the other anxious parents & candidates, our local forecasters are calling for 4-6 inches of snow Sunday night through Monday in the Annapolis/DC area! Hang on for some more delays. :eek:
 
Guys! My hunch was correct! Today at the Service Academy information day, my Congressman took my family and I into a room and notified me of my appointment. I'm so excited. I hope all of you get good news very soon!
