Amen!
Well put, NavyGenerationSkip. Those outside this process will only know our DS's and DD's either got in or didn't. They will never understand the difficulty of the process. They won't understand the accomplishment that our children have made by getting this far. They will not understand the emotional cost. They won't know about this forum and how this self-help group has roosted here for a while. They will never understand how a simple stack of white #9 envelopes pulled out of the mailbox can make grown men and women go weak in the knees. They won't ever know what SA, USNA, BGO, MOC, DD, DS, BFE, and TWE mean.
But each of us living daily off of the encouragement of this thread knows all these things now. One more night on the island here in Tennessee. If the TWE or BFE shows up tomorrow or April 15 or May 10th, we will all have grown from going through this process. Joy or disappointment awaits us all, but we all seem to have benefitted from becoming part of a band of brothers. Thank you for including my family.
And I am somewhat comforted to see that I am not the only crazy person who is haunting this forum at 10:30pm when I should be in bed! I mean, I'm not going to find a BFE in these threads!!! For heaven's sake, what am I doing here????
It must be because all of you know.
I JUST got the call from my BGO (at 9pm!) that the academy has offered me a NAPS appointment. Even though I've never posted here before, I've been following this thread with every single reply and my first thought was to tell all of you to give you all more to hang onto while your waiting! While I still have A LOT to think about before I accept, I wanted to wish you all my very best wishes. I'm pulling for all of you!
