Still in the game

For some strange reason, every time the mailman is running late I automatically convince myself that it MUST be because he has my BFE :shake: maybe he has my BFE today and that's why he is three hours later than normal

Called MoC today and he nor the rest of my state has heard from the academy about appointments aside from the early LOAs. They even gave me the famous "no news is good news" line. Keeping fingers crossed for next week.

Going to the mailbox is beginning to feel like being led to an execution chamber. My last request.....to open the door and see the BFE. Still nervous with no mail, but in the game for another day in FL.

Mailbox-stalking mission completed for today. No BFE or TWE, so nothing to report except DD is still in the game in So CA.

Anyone else try their MoCs today? It seems all of my SA liaisons in NM have meetings at the same time right now, perhaps together?

Mailbox

I just looked into the emptiest mailbox I've every seen.

Bone dry.

Zip, noda, zilch.

Not even the 2 second drama of a thin white bill posing as a TWE.

Oh well, I live to die another day....

welcome to the group waiting game! where are you from? Misery loves company!!! I have about three more hours to wait for the mail....how fun!

well, welcome, to the group...it seems to be another slow day at the mailboxes so far.

By my somewhat cursory review of this thread, I count 50+ poster names that have indicated "Still in the game" status at least once herein and have not come back to report a TWE or BFE. There are at least four that have posted appointments to at least one of the other SA's.

Some of the 50+ could be dupes (Parent and DS/DD both posting).

I don't know if that is comforting or depressing. I guess it depends if you have a half-full or half-empty outlook.

The 2017 appointment thread ended w about 120 names on it. This year, you're at about 95. That could be because, as someone posted earlier, the weather has slowed down things at Admissions. It could be a simple fluctuation in the number of people using this forum. I know that both my House Rep and both Senators were home from Washington on recess this week. Maybe that has something to do with the lack of appointment notifications in the last week. Maybe, maybe not. Something to think about.

So I put on "my big girl pants" and called MOC's office...... No one there!!!! I think his office is within 10-20 miles of USNA ( he's a former mid) do you think he stopped by admissions to see whassssup???? LOL!

too funny, dguts18.

haven't checked the mailbox yet. Mail usually comes ~noon, but rumor has it that the BFE can't be bent? so I am assuming my mailman would bring it to the door (he does with everything else that can't fit), which means there is nothing there that I'm interested in seeing (except perhaps an NROTC MO schol notice ).

Definitely avoiding eye contact with the mailbox today.

Thanks!

I'm so sad to be here - if you know what I mean.

You're absolutely right though, this misery requires like-minded company.

I can't remember going through anything quite like this. It's kind of like waiting for the best Christmas present imaginable. You hope to get it, but it seems too much to ask for.

It's the end of four year process that began during a USNA Academy soccer camp I participated in as a high school Freshman.

The following year, I applied for the STEM program but I was declined by a TWE.

Not to be deterred, I applied for and was accepted to the NASS. Best time ever - truly!

No regrets no matter what.

Prepping for the Academy's application demands earned me (4) full ride civilian scholarships to really terrific civi colleges. Bragging not intended here, just very, very proud of the path I've taken.

Thank you USNA - no matter what!

GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY..., and send me an Offer of Appointment!

I do not know what to make of anything anymore. Time to just put it all in God's hands. What will be will be. I am driving myself crazy trying to figure it all out.

You sound like a great candidate and my son has been on this track for the same amount of time..he went to stem summer after freshman year. We are pulling for you!!

Just received a call from MoCs office with disturbing news, another person from my district received his usna appointment. Perhaps that means my TWE is waiting for me at school. Monday we'll know if it's been waiting for me.
