Still in the game

Still Waiting in Hawaii

DS and family still waiting for that call in HI. We know that 2 of the three primaries for his Senator has been called and received their BFEs. My DS is the last one of the three. Good news though he did receive the call and appointment for USAFA but Navy is still number one on the list. From what I have noticed it appears that you get your notice based on when everything is turned in. The two canididates that got their appointments prior to DS had no medical questions and everything was turned in early. DS had a couple medical issues that needed explaining but still got medically qualified. This took several weeks after getting the letter from Dodmerb requesting for the information. Also it took about a week to a week and a half for Navy to get the Dodmerb qualification due to an error on paperwork compared to USAFA and USMA.

Just received a call from MoCs office with disturbing news, another person from my district received his usna appointment. Perhaps that means my TWE is waiting for me at school. Monday we'll know if it's been waiting for me.

Don't assume you are out of the game until you receive notice from USNA that you are out of the game. One thing I have learned from this forum is that the whole admissions process is extremely complicated.

There have definitely been cases, and other threads have talked about this, where more than one candidate from a district may be appointed.

Hang in there!

Thank you, I'll definitely keep my hopes up, but he's the second from my district to receive a USNA appt. luckily my plan B is set so I'll apply again next year if this year doesn't work out!

Reporting in from the doldrums, not an envelope in sight.

Not that I am counting or anything- but we are up about 83K- I may have to stay up as we get close to 100K to watch the numbers turn over. It is not widely known, but not only does prepswimmom get the golden anchor, the 100,000th view will get a chorus of "Anchors Away" and confetti.

I think I rack up about 30 of those a day!

I was telling DS this morning, I have no idea what I will do with all my time when this is over. This obsession has become a second full time job!

Patience...

That is awesome Dadmiral- you are officially this thread's poet laureate.
This all confirms my suspicion that USNA rolling admissions has been declared a form of torture in 5 countries.

Hello All!

First time poster and am in the same boat as you all - a few thoughts I had after reading through these threads:

1. This is an amazing group of young men and women - regardless of whether or not they receive appointments that fact won't change.

2. From the sounds of things, all have lined up impressive "plan B"'s - many, many students would be beyond thrilled to have those as plan "A"'s so although many might not get their first choice (my DS included) Plan "B" is still an incredible achievement.

3. I am both encouraged and humbled by these young people - with them at the helm (whether in the service or in the private sector) our country's future is bright indeed.
Parents, this weekend take a moment to savor.... we've raised an exceptional group of young people!!!!
Hope you all have a restful weekend - GO NAVY!!!!!!!

I will look forward to my
"Anchors Away" and my confetti. And I am honored you have all joined me on this journey. The stress continues.
