Sorry dguts. I so admire any of these kids willing to put themselves through this for an opportunity to serve. It is nothing like other college apps and they should be proud of their efforts.

Dguts18 I am so sad for you. You brought so much to our little band of worriers and mailbox stalkers. I hate to hear of anyone getting the TWE. I wish you all the luck in the world as you go forward. Thank you for your support.

Sorry to hear dguts. It breaks my heart to read the threads this time of year knowing so many well qualified kids are getting the dreaded TWE. It is quite humbling to say the least. I remember starting this whole process last year and thinking that DS chances were oh so slim.

It has been said many times before, on this board and others. People outside of this process really don't understand what we go through, parents and kids during this time.

Dguts, your DS must have amazing stats to have even made it this far, and I have no doubt he will do well at whatever he sets his mind to. Whether it is a Plan B school with a reapplication next year, or other plans. Don't let this slow him down even for a second. Everything happens for a reason!

Saw this thread early on and never thought it would make almost 700 comments and working towards 100k views. I was kind of taken aback to see how popular this thread was, but after following for about a week, I can understand why

I'm still waiting for my BFE in WI-01, and its been exactly the roller coaster ride for me as I have read from you! Some days I'm thinking, this is ridiculous, accept Plan B, and cross off Plan C, and others, I'm nagging my dad to hear about the mail!

Our mailbox stalking days are over here in SE Texas. Our TWE arrived today. I had to wait for DS to come home to open it, although I did pull it every which way to see what it was.

So sorry, dguts18 and stressedoutwaitingmom! I know that it is painful right now but I am sure the future holds wonderful things for you both. Try to move on quickly and embrace that Plan B!
 
Official TWE arrived. So do all the TWE's say the same thing...quite competitive but no final offer...try again next year...to bolster the app...etc...just curious.
DS was not lacking anything(could have been a tad higher across the board) IMHO...so I was wondering if there was a way to find out what kept the WCS down...680/660 3.9 top quarter..AP CS..AP PHYS...AP CALC......eagle...scout...track...NASS...etc.I mean he'll do fine where he's going(Regional Recruit CDR gave him ISR 4 YR- NROTC on the SPOT) ...and we are pretty stoked about getting our son back...or more importantly keeping him out of Navy hands for a few more years...
 
I think I remember reading somewhere that you can request your file from admissions. Can anyone confirm this?

If you received the TWE and want to know what kept you from getting in, all you must do is contact your Admissions Counselor. They will tell you exactly what it lacked or got beat by. Please wait til after April 15th though, they are busy enough.

Sorry to hear all of the bad news for everyone today. :frown: Mailman just came by and I reluctantly checked the mail box just to find I live to stress on for at least until Monday's mail.
 
All these TWE's make so very sad. All these great kids will go on and do great things. My DS says his goal is to be an officer in the US Navy and USNA is just one way to accomplish that goal. May they all reach their goals from whichever path they take.

I lost the game. But I got a full tuition army ROTC scholarship going for me :)
