Still on the island here in AR...but hanging by a thread...literally!

To those of you who received the TWE today, i am sorry that you have to experience this hurt with your DS/DD. Prepswimmom, A BIG thank you for starting this, it has provided so much comfort to us all. Best wishes to you. We are still waiting here..feeling very discouraged after reading today's thread. So many great achievers, wonderful families; very difficult to understand:scratch:

I am starting to think that being put on the wait list is becoming more and more likely with everyday nothing is in the mail. I'm not sure if I will survive more waiting :unhappy:

The minutes are ticking away. I'm trying to prepare my words. Either way, it is what is meant to be. Life lesson learning to take a NO after pouring so much time and effort. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that we understand whatever the answer is. I am so grateful that I have been able to witness the grace that has been displayed on this board.

Good to know your DS is still in the game! I wondered if all MA 6 got them today. Keep me posted as my son will reapply next year.

The dreaded TWE arrived in NH today . DS says he will reapply for next year . I am praying for those who have not heard and for those who received bad news . Our kids are all destined for great things no matter how they start their journey's .

UGH. :frown::frown::frown: I am so sorry everyone! I keep hoping that there will be more good news but as each day passes, I am scared that we are heading for the TWE.

No news here, although in my gut, I feel like DS won't hear until the last minute. I have reason to say that but it doesn't make the wait any easier.

Bless you all....and your kids (and yes, I know they are 18 but they are still kids to me!) They will be so successful and I am grateful that we have been able to bond over their experiences. I do not know if DS would reapply, but I think a START the game thread is definitely in order next month.

Until tomorrow......

As we have always told our children : God has planned the path their lives will take from the time they were a twinkle in our eyes. We may not understand why but it's not in his plans for now.

So sorry for the news prepswimmom. I enjoyed the support that your thread created. I wish your DS then best of luck when reapplying. Who knows, we might be right back here with you next year.......for now still stalking.

I am counting my blessings today. I feel very blessed for the support of this group, and I can live another day on the island. No mail today in FL>

What a sad day on the thread! My heart goes out to all who received TWEs. We made it through another mail day here in CT. We used to charge the mailbox expecting nothing but good news and now we approach it timidly, expecting the bad. Grateful to spend one more night on the island...

Island Jumping

Thank you everybody, I have to island jump. My son got the TWE; however, as I said he has the NROTC scholarship. The "A2" has the same long range goal so in the end the longer journey continues.

No worries for him he was in some really wonderful impressive company. He is sitting in room right now collecting his thoughts.

Come April 1st he will be applying again.

Cheers, and all the best!!

Still sitting on the island in the middle of a frozen lake in MN. If it's seriously going to be a TWE can't it just come already!

Prepswimmom, so sorry to hear! Your legacy will live on in all our hearts, you starting this thread and then keeping it going with your charm and wit helped all of us have somewhere to go on every coffee, lunch and sneaking break, before work and after, and even into the wee hours of the night when we should have been sleeping. Also to mrs. M, wompwomp, dguts (luv that!) and Ex.Bt.USN, and everyone else who has been my friend here, thank you!

To those of us still on the island, good luck tomorrow! The walk to the mail box is getting slower and slower. Think I'll even call "not it!" tomorrow.

My grandmother had a word for all of this...

Ni Haklo...Chickasaw word for "Heard Nothing"

He got the dreaded TWE today. Nothing else to say.

So very sorry Depch, and to everyone else who's gotten the TWE. This thread is breaking my heart today.

So many exceptional young people gives me hope for our future.
