Still in the game

Prepswimmom, i sent you a PM.
i do not know of anyone else on this forum from MA except Roseville. Also,
I am crippled right now on this forum (at work!!!) I should have left over an hour ago but can't seem to pull myself away from all of you.

We are off the island. Got our TWE. Still digesting it. DS online looking up what classes he needs.

so sorry Johanna! It is not a fun day at the forum! But, just all know -- our kids are great kids and so impressive that they have chosen this path. They will all get to their goals via the right path. The Lord works in mysterious ways...is what my mother always said.

keep posting everyone...we are pulling for you.

Oh No!! I feel so terrible for all the TWE's today. Still nothing in NH, went through the regular size envelopes in dreaded slow motion. Wishing everyone the best, they all land where they are meant to be...we must believe that.

As we have always told our children : God has planned the path their lives will take from the time they were a twinkle in our eyes. We may not understand why but it's not in his plans for now.
Yes, My4USMC.

TWE here in MA-03. DS said, "At least the application process was a good experience." Making sense out of a "no". But I think he's right, and it's so much more than that; I just can't articulate it at the moment. Things that make us grow usually hurt.

I, personally, am at peace - I know this is God's will for DS, whatever the future holds, reapplication or not. He does have Plan C in place (AROTC schol, possibly requesting transfer, but ok with current designated school), and is waiting on Plan B (NROTC Marine Option), which will come soon one way or the other.

You all are such lovely, good people, and it truly is encouraging to know that all these tremendously accomplished young people are so desperate to serve our country in such a noble way. God bless them, they are going to be great! And God bless all of you for sharing a bit of yourselves on this unique journey; it has been an enormous comfort!

Will still be around, probably more on the ROTC threads, but will be checking in - the best, best, best of luck to everyone still on the island. I hope it rains BFE's from now on!!!!

good luck with your plan B, Roseville! Thanks for being part of this great group!

Just checked the mail today here in ca-28 yup...I got a twe. I'm pretty much in tears right now but I guess this whole application process was somewhat rewarding. I would like to thank all of you in this forum for all the help in this journey. Good luck to all of you guys.

Still in the game in Il, but I'm staring at a tsunami of TWE's that I hope does not come my way, but I know that there is the distinct possibility that it could be. Best wishes to all of you who have been voted off the island. Even though I do not know any of you, I started to think of some of you as my friends from reading your kind words on a multiple-times-a-daily basis. Damn the torpedoes! It isn't over till its over!!!

BFE today.................from a plan B,C,D university. No TWE so still in the game. Great school very selective so happy about that. Still holding out for plan 'A'. tomorrow is a new day. Find out online thurs about a couple ivy league b,c,d's. Busy stressful week. Hangin' in.........

My false sense of security was crushed when I got home. DS told me earlier that there was no mail. He wanted to tell me in person the news I have dreaded for 3 years. The TWE arrived. Seems fitting that it is raining here. We are trying to see past this, but still a little too numb. DS said he gave ithis best. Waiting to hear from BGO to see if any light can be shed on a gloomy evening. Thank you to all of you who have supported the dream along the way. Once we can think clearly, we will see that the NROTC scholarship is a great opportunity. We are truly blessed to have had the support of all of you along this journey. I wish all of you, whether still in the game or off the island the very best. I hope our paths will cross again.

I am sadden for everyone about TWE, DS's good friend received his TWE today too…GOD has a plan for all of our DS and DD's and plan B is not bad at all.

I feel terrible for all of those who have received the TWE. Although, I believe there is always a bright side to a negative thing it just may be to dark to see right now. As for me the mail has provided nothing good or bad yet, so I live to wonder aimlessly from class to class waiting for any news for yet another day. Good Luck to all on the future!

A moment of levity

Today has been so tough. Reading each of your reactions from receiving mail. I've read every post today. My heart hurts for each one yet I'm encouraged by so many positive responses to TWE's

DS and I waited on the mail together for an hour. We talked about it all. We watched Bob as he delivered next door. Then he climbed back into his truck and pulled up to our house. He walked up the steps looking at us as if we were scary or something. Bob knows we are waiting to hear from the Naval Academy. He handed DS the 3 pieces of mail. DS slowly looked at each with me right over his shoulder. No Navy mail!!! We both hooped and explained TWE and BFE to Bob. He then got a sullen look and got one more TWE from his bag and said as he handed it to DS, "I forgot to give you this one." Our hearts sunk as DS turned it over. It wasn't even for us. Bob laughed as we chased him out of our yard.

Nothing more to report in Tennessee for today. My best to each of you. If I was in charge of BFE's you all would have one.

glad you got a chance to laugh today, Tennessee Dad! Your story made me smile and we all needed a little levity. Blowing out my St. Anthony candle for the day...you are all on your own until i light it for you all again tomorrow...and going home to hug my boy...who will be an officer in the US Navy one day...one way or another. A silly TWE cant stop that!! Anchors Away all!!

Amen mrs. m (I am a mrs. m too...feel a kindred spirit....) My DS wants to be a marine officer but even if he does get a TWE, it will not deter him from his goal. We have already talked about it. And maybe, having gone through this experience and adversity, it will make him a better officer.
