Hey, don't forget about me! I want in too!
But, seriously, Roseville, you hit it on the head. It is the vision that lingers and is hard to erase. My DS applied to stem in 2011 and went in summer of 2011 - our first visit to the yard. He spent a week there, sleeping in Bancroft Hall, going to classes with the academy's professors...it was magical. The following year in September 2012, he was invited as a junior to a CVW to spend a weekend there. It was the weekend of a big football game against VMI and several reunions. We met a ton of alums at our hotel and the parades, formations, pep rallies and school spirit were...again magical. Then in 2013, he went to NASS, needless to say, he loved it. Each time, we visited, we stayed in different hotels, ate in different restaurants, walked the town endlessly, took boat tours, shopped for souvenirs and got to know Annapolis well. We walked the yard endlessly, visited the church, the sailboats, John Paul Jones tomb, the cemetery, got lost a few times but by now know where everything is. Even though, I knew this was a tough numbers game and probably better odds we wouldn't get in, the vision persisted. Intellectually, I know he will do just fine wherever he winds up but the vision haunts me. Thanks for letting me go on...love you guys!
