Still in the game

Skip – I really hope Bob doesn’t pull any April Fools pranks on you today! LOVE the avatar!

Late notice

No BFE....No TWE....2 weeks left....isn't this a bid odd to hear "nothing" so late in the admissions process....Still hopeful....Good Luck to everyone else still waiting.

Last year my DS did not receive the dreaded TWE until beginning of May! It was a long wait. A painful moment. But the moment passed and DS proceeded forward with Plan B. In the past year he became very familiar with Army, leading him to apply to West Point...BFE arrived yesterday!! The only factors that matter now regarding last year, are the elements of the experience that brought DS to this point, this day...the sting of "Thank you, but no thank you," is long forgotten.
My point is the journey does not end if the first "no" is received, and waiting to hear it til' the very end is a blow. However, as parents to "over-achievers" we know their abilities to overcome...and do it all over again!

Well said Rlee!! Thank you!

DS spoke with someone in admissions yesterday. He was told his package had been before the board but no decision yet. :(

Were you able to get into the application? I just checked DS's so he can fill out today after track, and I was able to open everything.

Yes I just checked it now at school and the preliminary app is open/working. I had been trying at 12:01-05am this morning. :shake:

Great! Your persistence will pay off. Keep positive! See you on the 2019 Thread.

Rlee,

Congratulations!! that is a great, hopeful story to share!

Poll question...

Maybe a BGO can chime in...

For all of us that are "still in the game" as part of the "Anxious Service Academy Parents" (ASAP) group...

Is admissions:

1) Still trying to figure out some MOC slates?
2) Past the slates and appointing from the pool of qualified alternates/aka "national pool"?
3) Trying to put together the "Wait List" for those passengers sailing standby?

I'm suspecting option 3, but there has been some hint that some slates are still in limbo.

Thoughts/educated and informed opinions?

zip, zero, nadda, nil, and anything else one might one to add....Neither BFE or TWE in NJ's mail today....Keep thinking we threw the TWE out in error....grr

Good Luck to everyone still waiting.

Ahhhh I am so glad it is not just me that has been thinking that!!!! But wouldn't it show up on DS 's status? Nothing AGAIN in SC. I must admit part of me finds comfort in nothing at this point...

Hello ~

I am from NY, my DS got his MOC nomination Jan 2014 and currently desperately waiting and stalking our mailman EVERYDAY !

I have been reading all the blogs and forums from this site and I can only say one thing, this site has helped me in many ways to get information, what to do, who to contact, apart from what I already know from the SA's admission sites and most importantly, seeing all those anxious fellow USNA candidates, it definitely relieves all my anxieties.

Thank you.

Wow there is a whole lot of nothing going on out there! I feel the angst of those still waiting and I'm pulling for all of you. I hope you hear this week!

My heart skipped a beat when I noticed a white box delivered to our garage door, addressed to DH (same name as DS). Settled down when I realized it's white, not manila -- and the return address is not USNA. Alive to stalk another day. Still waiting on NROTC scholarship decision too. Scheduling visits to the top 3 schools if USNA doesn't come through with an appointment. Then off to another baseball game, sans blankets and mittens. So happy Spring has finally found Virginia!
