Still on the island thread

I think what was meant that current NAPS and Foundation students have not received their appointments. Which is true. They usually are the last to hear. But USNA also knows the size of those classes and who is cutting it at this point, so they know within a dozen or so spots who will be attending or not.

Thank you Hoops...that is what meant and wasn't clear in communicating.

"1300 appointments have been offered and they expect 1165 to accept"I think that's conjecture at this point, not fact e.g. I don't believe NAPS, Foundation and CPP candidates know there status yet nor that "all BFE's are out". It's the 3rd of April, not the 3rd of May or June.

Sydney C. this is not GTW's first time at the rodeo. My independent gouge also backs up GTW's reporting of the facts.

Excellent clarification NavyHoops/The Motivator.

TWE here in Maryland, yesterday. Scrambling and sad but looking for God's plan.
Last year the saying was "our plan B is sometimes God's Plan A". Hoping that you and your DS will find comfort in that. His ways ARE higher than our ways! When our DS received a TWE we were heartbroken for him, but we later found that that extra year was a blessing in disguise. He was more mature and better prepared to handle the stress and rigors of academy life. Now that DD has her own extra year under her belt, we know the same will be true for her. The mids that enter with a year of college, NAPS, Foundation under their belt are many times better prepared for the academies. Your DS should be proud of all he has accomplished in completing this academy application process!

DS just emailed BGO, and she said she does not know the status of his application and only USNA through snail mail can tell him. She said the database does not tell status. We are definitely prepared for sad news, as it seems she would have been contacted if he were wait-listed.

DS wasn't notified that he was added to Waitlist... BGO offered the information after we questioned him about DS's status earlier today.

We are extinguishing our torch here in NC-01. Good luck to all! DS will be at NCSU studying Engineering. He found out he was accepted into the Honors program the same day he was notified he would not be receiving a BFE. So excited about what the future has in store for all these wonderful young men and women!

Our torch was extinguished today, as well. Now onto healing and getting ready to prepare for Plan B - 4 year NROTC scholarship at OU. Good luck to all still waiting, and maybe we'll see the rest of you on the boards for reapplying next year....

Honors sounds great! Good luck!!

Is your DS doing NROTC at state? I'll be there.

DS is still here. Terrible thought of something being lost in the mail. With his stats we had been told by his BGO he would be triple qualified, but maybe he will make the Foundation List instead of TWE. This is torture! I am so depressed for all you great, highly qualifieds who got TWEs already. Please forge forward with the same determination that got you this far and embrace your back-ups!!! The reapp is there just in case. God bless all you wonderful, strong candidates. My mommy heart is crying for all of you.

Nice option. Congrats to your DS.

Things are all quiet here in NC-04 for today but I suspect I will either be waitlisted, given foundation, NAPS or the mail is simply running late with good or bad news. Someone else my district received their BFE several days ago and a few other kids in my district received TWEs over a week ago.

Still here Saturday, and the mailman has come and gone. What's going on? Does it take some states longer to receive TWEs? Stunned DS is still on the island with so many amazing candidates turned down. Maybe our mail is slower?
