Do any BFEs ever show up at this point without warning? I know all 1300 have been sent, but was everyone notified they were in the mail? Just dreaming here.

How do you know that all 1300 have been sent?
 
On Friday, one of the posters announced that their BGO told them they had been put on the waitlist already because all 1300 had been sent out. Several others posted they were notified by BGOs that they were wait listed. No certain idea really, just the forum talk.

The information was in an email sent to another poster from a BGO. BGO stated that 1300 appointments have been offered and they expect 1165 to accept. If you go back a few pages you can read it in its entirety.

Tds411, sorry about your TWE! What's your plan B?

I'm the poster who quoted the numbers from my BGO. My oldest is class of 2017 and had an LOA dated August 29 after his junior year. Same BGO is working with my class of 2019 wait-listed hopeful DS (who has accepted NROTC scholarship at Cornell)., I truly believe he knows of what he speaks and would not give us fslse. information. "1300 appointments have gone out and they expect 1165 to accept." I quoted him in order to answer questions that other posters were asking (that I know would also have been driving us nuts without some hint as to what was happening with admissions at this late date.)

BFEs will now come from the wait list, as some do not accept their appointments. This can go into as late as June.

Thank you, givethemwings, for clarifying what you have been told. For my DS, I'm just wondering why they couldn't have notified him already of an incoming TWE if he was not waitlisted or BFEd. Just seems like we would know something since so many others do. Maybe just slow mail to Tennessee. Happy Easter everyone, and thanks to all my forum friends who have helped me this far!

Yes, it's too bad all are not notified via email by April 1st of their fate. I am sorry you are still in limbo. So tough. Have a nice Easter and good luck…maybe your story will be one of the GREAT: "BFE arrived out of nowhere!" :)

I know. :( I don't think we'd know anything either, at this point, if I hadn't emailed to ask the BGO what he knew.
 
To those speaking of a number of 1300 offers of appointment being sent for a projected class of 1165, how do they account for the 250 or so currently in NAPS/Foundation that have not received their offers of appointment yet as their final admission boards don't meet until the week of 4/13.

Yes the majority of appointments to fill a class of 915 are probably sent, so figure 1080 offers. This will then be back filled with the currently held spots for NAPS/Foundation where again based on history 20-40 will not make the cut, leaving that 20-40 to be pulled from the wait list. Then there will be another group come May 15th from the wait list to fill the spots of those who failed to accept by the deadline.

Bottom line is, if you haven't received a TWE 20-50 have the possibility to get a BFE before all is said and done.
