Summer Seminar Acceptance

Wow, everyone seems to be getting their responses, however, I still have not heard anything yet. This isn't looking so good.

Is there any way to find out why a candidate was not selected? Just trying to figure out how to make DS more appealing for the real application to the Academy and not just summer seminar. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Received a bit of a blow today :(

You'll probably know by the end of this week. Don't worry. Everyone started getting their stuff before me as well, and then I got my email a few days later. So wait another week and you'll probably know for sure! :thumb:

Sigh, I wasn't selected. I wish these things didn't heavily rely on your ACT/SAT scores ... Congrats to everyone else who did make it.

My DS was waitlisted too!! I hope we hear back again fairly quickly. To see your child be disappointed is not fun. His dream has been to go to the Academy since he was about 10 years old. As a parent, we only want to see our children succeed and obtain their dreams. UGH the waiting is horrible

What were your scores? I only put my PSAT on it and it wasnt stunning, 61m, 63r, 58w. Its more about the whole person concept

hey, chin up! remember it's about your location too and it's more of a recruiting tool so just keep workin hard... did you apply to the navy summer seminar too? :)

I have a 23 ACT. I applied to the USMA SLS and they said I was rejected because my scores were way too low. Other than standardized test scores I am pretty good (3.825 unweighted GPA, 9 of 53 class rank, cross country letter and team captain, and plenty of community service.)

someone keep saying there slots available, so i can keep breathing please

Last time i checked, there were about 100 slots left, total. Still good chance :thumb: (2 days ago)

Yep, about 100 slots still open, so thats roughly 1/5 of total slots.

By waiting for a reply, does your app say "Applicant - Under Consideration"?

If not, that means they haven't even looked at yours yet. Meaning you could still be put on the wait list.

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums and found this site after doing some searching on the internet on Academy information. I'm from CA-26 and I'm prospective class of 2016. I applied a couple days after applications for USAFA SS came out, and got my acceptance around a month ago. I will be attending Session C. I was ecstatic the day I got my acceptance. Being able to attend makes me feel like I'm one step closer to realizing my dream of serving the country. Will anybody else here be attending Session C?
