    Goosebumps.

Makes me wonder if the family is related to the namesake for USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG 48), named for the eighteenth Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Alexander Vandegrift, a Medal of Honor and Navy Cross awardee. Something about the name, the valor and the Marine connection made me wonder.

    Thanks for posting.

Pretty impressive story. I can imagine myself being one of the players sitting in the room the night it was unveiled and having my jaw drop.

Heartbreaking...this war needs to end now...its a terrible waste of good Americans fighting someone else's fight with no end, no victory in sight.

    Unselfish Gifts. Amen.

A young Marine's unselfish gift of the ultimate human sacrifice and his family's unselfish gift to those his story has the power to inspire. Awesome. Remember them in your prayers and give thanks for all who serve, past, present and future.
